Consumer-Directed Care and Medicaid Problem

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? VA

Our child qualified for Medicaid due to numerous health issues. We had a choice between agency-directed and consumer-directed services. We found a person who could help our child, so we went with a company that facilitates consumer-directed service. Everything went OK for several months until we had a disagreement over an appointment time with the company, and they reacted by blaming us for everything. We have paper records that prove their culpability however.

In the wake of the disagreement, they sent an email saying they are cancelling the services for our son. We don't mind finding another consumer-directed agency (and continue using the same person for care), but can this company do this when our child has already qualified for Medicaid benefits? Will our child have to go without services due to the time lag in setting everything up with a new company? What recourse do we have, if any?
