Question

Dental Insurance ?**************.

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California. I live in C.A. I went to one dentist and gave him my insurance which is a PPO. My husband went to the same dentist 1 month later , he also has a PPO. Well the dentist saw I was also insured with his insurance too. I have two dental insurances. The dentist charged both insurances. When I brought this issue up with himand why he had charged both he said " the law is I need to report it to both and charge both" I think it is B.S. Am I wrong?

If he charged and received payment for the full amount of the bill from both insurers, then that is illegal. If he charged one for the full amount and balance billed the secondary insurer for the rest, that is ok, but it is not a law as he claims.

If the former is true, then report this to your state's department of insurance or attorney general. You have tried to get the dentist to resolve this error and he's refused. There's nothing further you can do except report it to the authorities. You may also wish to report this to both the insurance companies involved.
