Dental Inusrance question

What is the name of your state? CA

How come dentist's price for crown is 2 times different depending on how you pay. If you pay out of pocket - 800$ and you use dental insurance they file a claim for 1500$, more over the dental office has 4 dentists but only one dentist name always on the claims, the one who I never even met. So confusing... I have metlife PPO dental plan with 1500 annual max. I also have a diso**** dental plan but they told me i cannot use both plans. If I'd pay out-of-pocket with no insurance- 800$ but I used insurance and paid 700$ (50% of 1500) for the crown + 175$ (50% for the cast post) + 50$ deductible.... so confusing... the dentist is out-of-network.

So, then, don't file the claim with your insurance company.

OUT OF NETWORK = bad

If you had been in network it might not have been so expensive. Just pay cash, as Mo said.
