Domestic Partner bills

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

Hello,
Can anyone help here with an issue I have? Hope so. A couple of months ago my girlfriend and I split up. I had her on my work insurance under Domestic Partner coverage. This coverage has since been stopped. We no longer live in the same household.
Am I in any way responsible for any amounts not covered by my insurance before it stopped, for dental or doctor visits that she made? I just got a bill for uncovered expenses for a dental visit she made. Thanks for any help or advice.

Not unless you signed an agreement to be responsible for her bills. The fact that she was covered on your insurance does not make you responsible for the balance. Send the bill on to her - it's her responsibility.

Thanks

I recieved the paper she signed @ the dentist, and it clearly shows that she is responsible for the remainder after insurance has paid. The office lady says that by Florida law I am responsible. I told her not to waste her time sending it to me. All I can do is cross my fingers. Thanks for your time.

The office lady is trying to scare you into paying. If she tells you that again, ask her to cite the specific law, by statute number.

Agree with cbg. She's an adult apparently - therefore, she is responsible for her medical/dental bills as long as you didn't sign anything taking responsibility.
