Insurance Company won't reimburse me.What is the name of your state? Oregon. My insurance company will not reimburse me for services, they claim that the provider my son saw is a medicare provider and they need to pay her directly. The provider refuses to sign over the checks to me and continues to return them to the insurance company. This has been going on since June 2004 and each time I ask for an update from the insurance company the respond that they need to determine weather or not the provider is a medicare provider and to get back to them in 3-5 days. The reimbursement at this point is for over $500.00. Is there any thing I can do legally? |

Medicare Provider?Couple of questions first. 1. Is your son enrolled in Medicare A & B only, with no other insurance coverage? 2. Do you know if the provider of care "accepts assignment" for patients having Medicare? (this can be determined by calling and asking the provider's office) Note: If the provider is an acceptable physician to Medicare and does accept assignment, then Medicare will pay this provider directly, sending your son an "Explanation of Benefits" showing the amount of the bill and payment made to that provider. If you paid the provider in full for the services prior, then your complaint is with the provider. |
