Insurance terminationWhat is the name of your state? CA My wife just received (10/15/04) notification that she was terminated from her group health insurance on 10/08/04. She is currently 9 mos. pregnant and just began disability leave on 10/14/04. I must emphasize that she was not terminated from her job, just envoking her rights for disability leave. Excerpt from notice; "...The coverage was terminated as permitted by the Termination Reinstatement provision of your employer's group contract because of an administrative cancellation for non-payment of dues." I'm assuming that her employer has not been paying the insurance carrier and that the coverage has been terminated for not just her, but to all employees. With less than 3 weeks until our baby's due date, not having health insurance for the delivery, recovery, or any unforseen situation is a little unnerving and I'm am at a loss for some type of resolution. Does anyone have any advice on what recourse I can take so that my wife and child are covered when the baby is born? Thanks in advance for the advice. |

My response: You didn't ask a legal question. However, now you know why Bush needs to get out of office. So, vote for John Kerry and "Yes" on Proposition 72. IAAL |

Sorry. Is there any legal recourse we can take against the employer for bills that will be incurred until we find another carrier. |

My response: No. You're not "owed" health insurance - - at least at this point in time. So, vote for Kerry, and vote for Prop. 72. IAAL |
