Question

Liability for foreign relative's medical bills

What is the name of your state? Iowa
My Chinese In laws will visit us soon. I will cover them with a visitors health insurance policy. However my father in law had a stroke (pre existing condition) albeit he recovered fully 19 months ago, so no policy will cover that while he is here should it reoccur.
If (God forbid) he did have another stroke while in Iowa would I be liable for his medical bills?

No, you would not legally be responsible/liable for your father-in-law's medical bills. (unless you sign as a responsible party/to be a responsible party)
