Medical Insurance


What is the name of your state? WA
I'm from overseas, I'm legally married in the US my longtime girlfriend a US citizen. She wants to add me to her insurance ,but I don't have a social security number,can she still put on her insurance

She should be able to add you as long as it's within 30 days of the wedding. Otherwise you'll have to wait until open enrollment. Not having a social security number shouldn't be a problem; they will issue you a unique ID number or give you the same ID number as your wife has but with an 02 designation or something like that.

Ok thank you, can you explain what is an 02 designation?

The policyholder/employee, your wife, would be (ID#)-01. You, as the first dependant, would be (ID#)-02. If/when you have a child, the child would be (ID#)-03. Etc. Every company does their ID number system a little differently, I was just giving examples.
