| A Note To CBG This is an update to a thread I posted on 10-25-04 entitled "Waiver or no waiver" and reply from cbg that I found quite un-professional and un-helpful.
For your information, I decided to tackle my situation first without the help or advice of a lawyer. I simply researched the Illinois state insurance code and armed with nothing more than a little knowledge and references I convinced the insurance company they were responsible for paying all of my daughter's claims and they have since payed them. It wasn't easy, I had to make many phone calls and was very persistent. Everyone wanted to pass it on to every other department. They eventually admitted they made an error in the underwriting of the policy. Their lawyers apparently felt they had no recourse except to honor the policy they wrote with no waivers.
I'm not gloating, I realize someone may have gotten fired for their underwriting mistake, but I also don't look a gift horse in the mouth. I have a daughter with a health condition and that's my priority.
However, I am gloating with regards to the reply posted by cbg from my original post. I posted my dilema to possibly get a little advice or support. I certainly didn't expect a smart-ass response like that. I'm glad I didn't give your reply any credence otherwise I'd have collection agencies and possible bankruptcy staring me in the face. |
