Orthodontic insurance? What is the name of your state? Texas I am back with yet another question. This is a very frustrating process. We have had a dental "plan" for a couple of months that is not an insurance but a networked plan where you choose a dentist and receive services at a reduced cost. This has not been a good thing and I wished I had known more before I signed up. My hubby had to be referred to a oral surgeon where we found out he would receive only a 25% discount because the oral surgeon is considered a specialist. The oral surgery fees are only covered if the primary general dentist does them. So after much comparism and shopping around I finally found a PPO plan that will cover his needs, I called and asked them specifically about my hubbys needs and if they would be covered, after 6 mths they say they will cover oral surgery whether it is through his primary dentist or a specialist. I am contemplating tossing the "plan" away as I looked into the so called "orthodontic coverage" and beleive I would face the same problem as none of the general dentists do them and that would be a specialist referral at 25%. I have 2 kiddos that will most likely need braces when they are older. The new insurance I found for hubby does not cover orthodontics at all and in my serach for a insurance that does has been nada. Does anyone have any advice or direction as to finding a insurance that covers orthodontics? Thank you, Teggie |
