Patient Financial Responsibility

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CALIFORNIA

Under California Law, is a spouse automatically responsible for his/her spouse's medical bills OR must the spouse sign a 'Patient Financial Responsibility' contract to be held responsible?

CA is a community property state, so ALL debts acquired during the marriage automatically belong to both of you.
