Please Help - Doctor rip off

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ca
Hi,

I went to a doctor for normal check up and she told me that she will take blood work. And she told me she will do the test in her office. After 2 weeks I recieved a bill from another hospital saying that i need to pay 100 dollars. I never went to that hospital. I called the doctor and she was telling me that they don't have certain things in their office so they sent the sample there and i have to pay it. The doctor never told me that they are going to sent it some other hospital . Can they just send my blood sample to any lab they want to ? And what if the lab is not in network. Now when i called her to ask about this, she was yelling at me and telling me that she don't care .

Please tell me what to do now...so they can just get away with this?

No. However, they can send it to any COMPETENT lab when necessary.

Yep. What to do?? Pay it and then find another doctor.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

WAS the lab out of network? Your doctor should at least attempt to send your tests to a participating lab, but it always helps if you tell them what labs are ok to send tests to on your own.

Answer

Yes, the Dr. can send the blood work to another lab all you have to do is contact your insurance company and let them know what happend and they will should pay the claim. This is acually a common issue.
