My wife is three months pregnant. Her employer is going to drop their group health coverage on Jan.1 and look for another company. Is her pregnancy a pre-existing condition or will the new company have to take her and the delivery of the baby?
Would she qualify for COBRA if not?
Thanks

In cases where an employer is switching their group health plan from one carrier to another, pregnancy CANNOT be considered a pre-exisiting condition.

So yes, the new carrier will have to accept her pregnancy and delivery bills as long as she is enrolled as a dependent on the plan.
