Waiting Period Changed

I recently applied for health insurance from company A and was approved. The welcome letter stated that my previous insurance coverage (Company B) was sufficient to grant me a waiting period of zero (0) days. When I called several months later after the insurance coverage had begun, I was alerted to the fact that my waiting period was actually over 90 days. I sent in another health insurance letter (Company C) I had and was assured this would bring me to a waiting period of zero days. (There was a one month gap in coverage in which I was covered under a national health insurance plan for which I have no letter.) I called today to find that my waiting period is actually 30 days with the second insurance letter and I am to be billed several hundreds of dollars for doctors visits during my first 30 days of coverage.

What can I do? I feel Company A is lying to me at every turn!
