Website shows in-network but dentist is not

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Kentucky

I checked my new dental insurance's website to make sure my dentist was in-network. It shows that they are. I get my EOB and it says that I used an out-of-network provider. So I called up the insurance company and they tell me that he's not in-network and never has been. I refer them to their own website and after doing some checking, they say that he's operating under two tax ID numbers. One is in-network and the other is not. The one he billed them under is not in-network. They said that I need to call his office and get them to contact the insurance company to straighten the whole thing out. I've tried multiple times and the billing person is never there and won't return my calls. In the meantime I get a bill for the whole amount with a note that the insurance company has paid me direct so I am responsible for the entire bill. The insurance company says they sent the check directly to the dentist for the out-of-network rate. What are my options here?

Thanks.

Very simple. Contact the dentist and get them to transfer the funds to the proper in-network account.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Well, I'm not sure how I'm going to do that if the billing person will not return my phone calls or talk to the insurance company. I left a message with the receptionist explaining everything and gave her the number of the insurance company, but they were never called. In the meantime I have the bill sitting on my desk.

There is this really neat tool available. It is called 'pen and paper'. Quit being a lazy ass and WRITE them a letter explaining the problem. Then, you can purchase a stamp and the USPS will deliver it for you!! Pretty neat, huh??

Wow. You're so helpful. You must work in customer service. I planned on sending them something in writing, although I doubt it will do much good. At least there will be a paper trail then.

If your expectation is that an anonymous message board can magically solve your problem for you, your expectations are too high.

What did you expect us to tell you?

Actually I would go to the office in person and insist on speaking to the billing person face to face.
