what will happen ?

Mississippi,

I had surgey in may, i needed two surgeons. The hospital they worked at was not in my network. but the doctors were. I had to get approval thru another insurance company that works with mine, to be admitted to the hospital. They informed me that they will be sending me the check!!!!! to pay the hospital... I really need this money at this time. what will happen to me if I cash it, and set up payment with the hospital? Everyone else has been paid.....

If you do not pay the hospital on a timely basis they will turn you over to collections.

Why did you use an out of network hospital? Was this emergency surgery or was it planned?

Do you have two health insurance plans? Is one a supplemental plan or are both major medical?

Somarco, can you look at this thread? I think the OP posted it in the wrong forum, and you seem to know a lot about insurance issues. Thanks.
