What is the name of your state?Minnesota
I just recently applied and tested for the fire department in Madison Wisconsin. After passing a written and physical test I was given an interview. After that interview I was invited to another and told that I had made the eligibility list to be hired. Car trouble on the way to the interview, which was a 3.5 hour drive prevented me from making my interview on time. I was exactly 2 minutes late by their clock. I was now informed that they would not allow me to go through with the interview and I am now off of the list. My question is, can they do this??? I understand that they have a policy about tardiness, but this was only 2 minutes and like I said by their clock, I walked in the door when their clock said 3:15pm the exact time of my interview, by the time I signed in it was 3:17pm. Isn't there a grace period for this type of thing? Or do I have to take this as a hard lesson learned. Basically if I had gotten into an accident on the way there it's just too bad. I cannot test again for another two years. Any advise??
