My question
I left my job oct 6th, 2000. I have contributed to the
401k program. I have yet to recieve the money whether to
roll it over or to take it out. Is there a law or regulation as to when this monies is to be paid upon the employee termination. I was orginally told that I would have to wait until the anniversary date of the plan, which is oct 31 and the pension people are waiting for the companys year end paperwork, which is oct 31. I was told by the pension people that my former employer has been known to not turn in the final papers sometimes until summer. Is that legal to wait so far out? Isn't the money
I put in mine and to take out?
The state I live in is Illinois.
please advise what are my legal rights
thank you
