Was recently given notice of termination of position. I am male and have a stellar work record with positive evaluations with the Fortune 500 company for the past 8 years. Was told my position was being eliminated as two devisions merge. Supervisor, female, said in the termination interview that it was out with the old blood and in with the new. Am I to assume from that comment that I am to old for my position?

Not at all.

The phrase in question generally refers to new ownership coming in and has nothing to do with age.
