What is the name of your state? Arizona

I have been denied employment by two places because of my background check. I have 2 felony charges that are being reported. I was not convicted for these crimes (was only charged) so is it legal for a company to not hire you because of past charges?
Where would I find the laws about background checks & the hiring process?
Thank youy!!

**A: it is legal for the company to not hire you even if you had no charges.
