Aproxametly 5 months ago my wife requested an extended leave from her job to take a vacation we have been planning for a year. Her employer agreed to the time off (there were witnesses)... then 2 months prior to departure she was terminated without cause. Since there was a signifiant financial deposit already made, backing out of the trip was out of the question and she can't very well seek new employment at this point. Without going into all the details here, is there any actionable cause to force the employer to comply with the original verbal agreement for the time off?

What agreement? Your wife's former employer is not interfering with her ability to take the trip. In fact, he has given her more than enough time off to take it.

Also, where, in your post, have you even stated a reason for a wrongful termination?
