if an employee, who is paid by 1099 (ie. not on payroll), suddenly resigns with no notice and does not give 2 wks notice nor is willing to train other or new employees on their job responsibilities, does the business owner have any recourse or true obligation to pay that employee their prior 2 weeks of invoiced time? If this resignation causes more time and cost to the employer to continue business operations as a result, can that added time be billed against their invoiced time to zero out the pay due that employee for job abondonement?
