What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?CA

My former boss in CA stated he was acting on some law
to 'let me go'. Although I kept in touch with him to know/
asked permission to be away (since he did not have work
for me) he thought he could use some law to fire me OR
maybe he thought I had voluntariily quit by not showing
up in spite of the above mentioned status and commiincation
with him.

I am asking about this as I would like to pursue a claim with
unemployment at the very least.

You can e mail me at aura_pc1 at yahhhhwho.com
Thank you for any help!

So contact your local UC office and file a claim for unemployment.

I have no idea what law your former boss is referring to and I seriously doubt he does either. The only thing that occurs to me is that he may be referring to the "at will" employment doctrine that allows him to discharge you for any reason except a specifically prohibited one and conversely allows you to walk away from a job any time you wish.
