The company has a manager, few senior techs and over 10 junior techs. Now they created a couple of supervisor positions and planned to eliminate the senior techs. The senior techs can't be rolled over to be the supervisors automatically. All techs can apply for the supervisor postitions. If a senior tech is not selected to be the supervisor at the end of the process, he/she will be layed off/terminated. There is no performance issue with any senior techs. Is this legal?

Also, the company is doing very well and more hiring is on the plans. What are they trying to do?

Thank you,

Justy

It's perfectly legal for companies to reorganize.
