I have left my company after they failed to obtain a work permit for me. I mangaed to find a company willing to sponsor and who had started the process. However, my old company MD called up the MD of my new company and said to him that I am in breach of contract for leaving before 18mths and for working for a competitor. My offer of employment at this new company was withdrawn. Now I'm unemployed and very upset. Considering this company is in breach of contract for not obtaining the work permit for me after constant nagging on my part, can I take them to the cleaners?
