I live in California. A year ago a company hired me and I signed a "promisory" note where I am obligated to pay back them 10k if I resign within a year.
I resigned 3 months and the new company told me that the "promisory" note was illegal in CA but today I got a letter from that company requiring the payment of $6000.00
Is this enforceable in CA??
