What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts

I have made mistakes in the past. I have no illusions about being hired with a felony on my record. When I apply i am honest about my past.

The question is as follows;

If i was hired, and i did not authorize the company to do a background check and they do so anyway...can i be terminated? Because I was...after 2 months of employment.

tks

I think we need to let cbg (who is from Mass) weigh in. A few States, including mine, prohibit discrimination in employment due to criminal convictions unless the crime is substantially related to the job. I don't know if Mass has a similar statute.

I'll have to respond to this from home, where I have a copy of the exact requirements.
