What is the name of your state? Florida

I left my previous job about 5 months ago. Recently I recieved a phone call from a former co-worker informing me that my previous boss (and owner of the company) was showing and telling everyone at his house party that I was now a porn star. He showed pictures and videos, telling everyone at the party that this was me! This information is not true!

I am a Medical-Surgical Supply Representative in the local area and want to know what course of action I could take, if any at all.

I understand why you're upset but one of the issues here is whether you suffered any damages as a result of what was said. By any chance, might all the party-goers have understood the boss was just joking around and having some fun (which I presume was the case) and not seriously trying to claim that you are actually now a porn star?

Some of the employees at the company believed that it was indeed true. I have not suffered any damages at this point, with respect to my career. However, I would like to take some course of action. His behavior was, and always has been, unprofessional....this is one of the reasons why I left the company.

Would it be acceptable to have an attorney write a letter on my behalf, stating defamation. If anything, I want this man to think twice about his behavior and actions.

It wouldn't hurt to have an attorney send him a letter, basically telling him to shut-up. You'll have to leave it up to the attorney as to how it should best be composed.
