Florida - What are the laws regarding absences from work for health care providers in Florida if a doctors note is obtained? Can an employers write-up an employee in health care if they have a doctors note. I am told state madates apply here along with company mandates.
This is not FMLA but just an absence from work with a doctors note.

There are no laws in Florida or at the federal level that address non-FMLA absences, with or without doctors' notes. Absent a union CBA or similar, employers may respond to such absences any way they like.

What's more, there are no laws in any other state addressing it either.

In all 50 states, a doctor's note has no force in law outside of FMLA or occasionally the ADA. In all 50 states, an employee can be written up for an absence that is not related to FMLA even if he has a note from the Surgeon General of the United States.
