What is the name of your state? NY. Hi, I am posting this for a friend being that her computer is down. I believe she is a victim of weight discrimination. Will explain, "Tammy" was hired as a part time mortgage originator 2 months ago, the gentleman that hired her met with her on a one to one. Last week he was demoted from manager to originator himself. The new manager had been speaking with Tammy on the phone almost daily since last week, loan closing in progress. No one else has ever seen Tammy in person but the gentleman that hired her. The new manager asked her to come into the office this past Monday so everyone can meet the person with the sweet voice over the phone. Well she went in and once she introduced herself, she got a very cold wecome. It had also been discussed prior that she should speak with the top dog to get hired on full time. The top dog was not in on Monday, so she went back Tuesday, another COLD reception. This time the top dog was in and he asked her into his office, he then told her that her sevices were no longer needed "or wanted". She got a letter from the company on Wed. Dated that Monday, the day she met everyone) Telling her that she was not seasoned enough as an originator and that they just hired someone else full time. She found out that the person they hired has never done mortgages, only insurance as she had done, and he was only hired on part time, she spoke to this person directly. Can she file a discrimination complaint? If she can, with whom?
