State: Oklahoma; Is it legal for a prospective employer to ask me for permission for a credit report for their consideration in hiring me? What does credit history have to do with ablility to perform a job, especially one that does not involve handling monies?

Yes. Employers today want to see how in debt their employees are.

Remember, an employer can refuse to hire you for any reason, or no reason as long as you are not of the protected classes.
