in Virginia, can a employee be held libel for losses the employer claims are from his employment and mistakes and be sued ?

Generally, an employee cannot be held liable for the debts of his employer, UNLESS permission is given.

For example, a cashier could be liable for 'drawer shortages'. A waiter could be liable for 'walk aways'. A salesclerk could be liable for 'broken items'. But these all require a written notice.

What are your specifics???
