Our employer died. We are closing his law office. Are the employees of the office entitled to severance pay?

Unless you have a contract that specifically mentions severance, there is no legal obligation to pay severance. However, if the executor of the estate wanted to do so, I do believe that he could. You are, however, entitled to collect unemployment.
