Florida. I was working for a company one day and the next the doors were closed. they still owe me a great deal of money and i have a contract. the problem is that they have filed bankruptcy. i can't dish out a lot of money on an attorney if the chances aren't good. can i file a claim or take them to small claims court?

Anyone can file a small claims suit. It sounds promising, especially if you have a contract. For the small fee charged in small claims court, it's worth a try. However, small claims does have a limit of financial awards. So you should check into the maximum amount in your local small claims court. I hope this helps. Lisa
