If an employee has been fired due to dishonesty at work (including submitting false mileage reports, playing games during company time--and lying about it--and lying to employer and clients about work done, among other things), is there any chance that he will be able to collect unemployment compensation?

Also, is there a good website that has information on California unemployment/employer's rights information? So far, my web searches have been unsuccessful. Thank you.

Well, anything is possible. But if the employer has the proper documentation, including documentation that the employee was warned that this misconduct was not acceptable and could lead to termination, then it is less likely. I'm not sure what side of this you are on, but the more documentation the better.
