I live in california and my employer may have over paid me, what can happen if they discover they did indeed over pay me, they agreed to compensate me for work i completed but no dollar amount was ever mentioned and the amount paid was extremly high. thank you

Overpaid

IF the amount was so high that a reasonable person in your situation would have known it was an overpayment, then you owe the employer the difference between the amount paid and a reasonable amount. This is vague, but that is the law on this.
