Harrah's casino in East Chicago, Indiana, hired my husband in May, and yet he is still waiting to start working there. His paperwork all cleared, he passed the casino table games test and received an employee's badge with his picture and employee number. When he went for orientation, he was told there was a problem that would have to be looked into. The problem happened to be the fact that several months earlier he voluntarily banned himself from gambling at the casino. It is now nearly August, and the employment manager claims (after many telephone calls on our part) that he can't work there because he voluntarily banned himself from gambling there. My husband is willing to "un-ban" himself from gambling there, but the casino claims that it is a permanent. lifetime ban.
Is there no recourse, as he really wants to work at Harrah's. We do not see what not wanting to gamble at a casino has to do with wanting to work there. And it was a voluntary ban on his part.
Any advice would be appreciated.
