My boyfriend was recently employed with a large company here in the valley it sold to another corp. and for the last year or so all they have heard is there jobs were all temporary. and be prepared. many lay offs ( many)

Knowing it was coming to a head, he sought employment elsewhere and was hired. He had to past a background inver. and fill out some documents and fax them in right away. He complied and shortly there after he was told to give his two week notice about 3 days later he did. Now he has been out of work going on his 2nd week . he has emailed and left messages for a start date. The H.R dept. said "dont worry we still have things to work out.at the end of this week it will be 3 weeks. what recourse is there if for some reason the change there minds. He has an offer letter and some emails stating above.

Is there any legal recourse? if so What..

Please help.

If the new job falls through, it's possible your boyfriend could have a claim for detrimental reliance. He'll need to discuss that with an attorney if that happens.
