My husband changed jobs on July 31, 2000. At his old employer he was 100% vested and was/is to receive all of the money that is in his ESOP. Originally he was told that he would be contacted by the bank as soon as they notified them of his termination of employment. Then he was told that they only notify the bank Qrtrly - which was the beginning of October. We have heard nothing so he called and they forgot to do it and therefore cannot notify the bank of a payout until January. Now, all of these months this money is no longer being invested. Does he have any legal rights to collect interest on the money since it is his employers mistake? It is alot of money to be dormant for nearly 6 months.
