falsly accussed of sexual harrassment

my husband was forced to quit. a temporary woman worker filed a sexual harrassment suit against him. there were no witnesses to either party. another woman told my husband and myself that she overheard this woman and another plotting against him, and human resource dept, won't talk to this woman at all, even though she heard them. 1998 he had another charge against him that was dropped (that woman also lied) and they are trying to use that against him also. h-r told him that he had to quit and nothing would be said about this to or termination they would have to tell when other companies called for ref.
