What is the name of your state? florida.
i left my new job after only one month. i offered two weeks notice, but they refused it. i was scheduled for training in North Carolina(i'm in florida). i resigned two days before i was to fly to training. they purchased the ticket. i didn't sign anything or put anything on my credit card. my final paycheck had the airline amount of $296.00 deducted from it. they stated that they couldn't get a refund on the ticket, so they deducted the amount from my check. is this legal?

Florida doesn't have a DOL. Contact the Department of Workforce Innovation, as they are the ones who took over Wage and Hour issues with the State DOL was shut down.
