What is the name of your state?
Answer: Geogia

Hi, I work for the federal government and was wondering if you can still be fired after you have put in your official resignation?

Misunderstood

Thanks for the reply, but I already placed my resignation.

However, they are upset and I'm afraid that they are going to try to fire me on something trivial.

Can they still fire you even though you already placed a resignation?

As the previous reply stated, they can just accept your resignation immediatley or sooner than your resignation stated. No reason to dig anything trivial up to terminate you.

It's very common.
