What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MN

I was getting ready for work one day, and I get this call from
my boss, and she pretty much tells me...well, I do not need
you to come in anymore, its just not working out...We girls
are pretty much uncomforable with you, so good luck, good-bye...

can you believe that? I was canned for being a guy...?!

Just got my unemployment letter today, and the reason
on the letter said that I was not a right fit for the company...
this is how i really translate it...I was fired because I was male.

What do you guys think? Any US $$ in my future? :)

They didn't fire you for being a dude. They fired you because you were making the office staff (presumably comprised of women) uncomfortable. You don't have the right to make people uncomfortable in their workplace.

in their workplace? well then, I guess she should not have
told me when she called that she was basicly letting me
go because I was a guy...

I did nothing too them to make them the feel the
way they do. If they had comfort problems, then quit...
As an employee, I have every right to work there...

thats a good one.."their workplace"

If they did not want a guy, then they should
have not hired a guy to work in an all womens
place of employment...

are you serious...?
Yes, I'm serious and yes, I know what you're talking about. You have not won the lawsuit lottery.

If you think you have a solid case for illegal discrimination, by all means file a complaint. I'm just trying to save you some time.

You're welcome.

what if the roles were reversed...all men employement...
and one day her boss calls her up saying...you are basiclly
not a right fit for our company because you are a female...

gender discrimmination? or do the men just make up laws
as they see fit, and fire her and say..well she was just
not fit for our company because she was female...or
she was not within our comfort level, so we fired her, hell
lets just employee rights right out the window...

I bet you every damn laywer would be signing up for that case..

Okay, fine. Have it your way.

You can file a complaint with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights. The forms and FAQs are right on the front page.

Good luck.

By the way--while you're spinning your wheels in the mud trying to sue them for illegal discrimination, do apply for your unemployment benefits right away. I don't know if you even qualify but you need to get that going immediately.

Yes sir, already been on it...the company tried to fight it..
with not being the right fit (being a male) and they lost...

and I have already faxed that letter to my atty...

wow, would my atty still be returning my calls if
he thought we did not have a case?

hrmm...

If you are paying hourly, they call even if you have a losing case. Got to make some billable hours doing something.
