I was recently terminated from a small business in Oregon (under 50 employees) because I have missed work due to a mental illness. Can a small company do this? Do I have any rights? I can't afford to hire an attorney. What should I do? Please e-mail at [email protected] and put legal question in Re: line. Thanks

You have not provided enough information to say. How much time have you missed over, say, the past 12 months? Have you ever asked for an accomodation under the ADA? Please note that the ADA does not require that they lower for you, attendance standards to which other employees are held.
