I have been off work since October 6, 2000. Had a shattered disc in my neck(car accident). I am on short-term disability still. Had one neck surgery on October 19, 2000 & another surgery on October 30, 2000. I just receieved a certified letter from my company, "Due to reorganization, my position has been eliminated." I will soon be notified by my insurance carrier about COBRA. Is this legal and will this stop my disability pay? I can't file unemployment because I am not able to work yet. Obviously, I can't go look for work. I am still in a neck brace. Well, Merry Christmas! This is my third Christmas where I don't get to have Christmas. Before this happened I was working 70 hours a week and a Supervisor. Texas
