Help With Background Check

What is the name of your state? ILLINOIS

I am wondering if anyone knows how far back a background check for employment goes. I have applied for and been hired at a medical institution, but I am awaiting my background check. I have a felony(aggravated battery not involving weapons) and the position that I have been hired for does not involve direct patient care or contact.

Anyone have thoughts or input on this????

There is no one answer. A background check goes as far back and is as thorough as the individual employer decides.
