From Las Vegas, Nevada.
I recently applied for a job at the Hard rock casino and hotel. I was invited to apply and audition. Went to the audition passed and was given an offer letter for employement with there company from June of this year until September. Signed and accepted offer letter. Was then sent for drug screen which I passed then told to show up for processing and orientation On Wed of the following week. Received e mail telling me that I would be working thur, fri and sat of that same week my friends working their saw me on the sched. Showed up for processing filled out all the the new hire paperwork. At the end all fifteen of us were told that the pres of operations never signed off on us being hired. And that there would be no orientation and we would no start work as told and as shown on the sched. We were told to go home and wait to hear from them. I received several emails from tony who was our contact person telling us that it would be resolved with in the week not to worry that he was assured this would happen. Meanwhile me and a couple other people had left our other temp jobs, because we were hired. After three weeks we then received a email telling us because of the economey we would not be hired: I would have never left my other job and I feel they are responsible for me not having that other job. I also found out through friends that are employed their that one of the people that was in the room with us for processing re-located from florida and they were able to push that person through because of the re-location what makes that person more important then me. And I think I should be compensated for my lost income based on there mis-leading information over a month period. do I have a case. Can you help me find an attorney. There may be more then just me, other's had quit there jobs too, based on there information.

Theoretically, you were "hired" but have not yet started work and are not yet on the payroll.

Did you quit another job to take this one?

Hi patty just wanted to let you know. That when we were told to show up for processing and orientation that is a paid event. They only did the processing portion and put orientation on hold. But my paperwork clearly said orientation and processing. I did not get paid for being there for 2 hours that day. Another deception

I don't know what else to tell you. I know the orientation needs to be paid.

Answer my question. Did you quit another job to take this one?

And the answer to your other question is yes I did leave another job to take this one because I was told I was hired an on the sched for that same week. Couldn't be in two places at the same time, and wanted to give my other employer some kind of notice. I guess I should have been like everyone else and called off all three nights at my old job, which would have gotten me fired anyway. I thought once you signed an offer letter and where put on the sched any normal person would think they were hired.
