What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nevada
I relocated from California to Nevada 3 weeks ago for a job. The General Manager and Sales Manager made me the offer. On numerouse occasions, the General Manager (in front of the Sales Manager) said "I promise you, you will NEVER make less than $xxxx a month". Yesterday, my boss told me that the owner of the company did not approve the offer he made me and that my compensation will be cut 60%! He asked me not to quit and apologized. Then, in private, the Human Resource Director told me that I was hired under 'false pretenses' and that my boss knew he would not get me offer approved. Can employers do this?
