What is the name of your state? SD

I got fired today for basically not meeting the job expectations. This reason qualifies me for unemployment insurance benifits. But I just realized I made a big mistake. It was some paper I signed saying "I resign from my position". They told me it was a termination agreement. Now I came home to do some research only to find that I just killed my chance at the benefits. In order to proceed I know I will have to apeal to the states unemployment office. But what can I do to prove I was really fired?
