What is the name of your state? South Carolina.

I was hired under the condition that I would receive incentive bonuses for sales. After nearly a year I finally started to receive my bonuses but they were nowhere near the amount I was told I would receive so I took a weeks vacation and told my manager that I would be looking for a new job and I might be handing in my resignation when I returned.

I did'nt find a job so when I returned I told my manager I was staying. 2 weeks later at 5pm on a Friday he called me into his office to tell me that when I left on vacation, the company considered that as my notice of resignation and that this was the last day I can work because they hired someone else to fill my position. I never told them I was deffinently quiting nor did I give them a date, I said I "might" be turning in my resignation.

Was I wronged or do I have a case to pursue legally.

Q: Was I wronged or do I have a case to pursue legally.

A: You have no case; you left job and you cannot put conditions on that absence.

The moral of this story is, never tell your employer you are looking for a new job until you actually have a new job to go to, because if they choose to take that as a resignation they are free to do so and you have no legal recourse whatsoever.
